Twilight Sad – I Became A Prostitute

It’s been far too long since their debut record, Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters, blew away all competition to be the greatest, most industrious, fearsome and beautiful record of 2007, and, naturally, expectations are high for album number two.

This first glimpse of what we can expect ensures that not much has changed. And that not much was even ever worth changing. It’s the similar quiet/loud post-rock influence, with James Graham’s Scots dialect as pronounced and emphatic as ever, with his mad, shouting Highland poet approach still the ultimate appeal of this glorious band.

Bold, big, loud, brilliant and a very happy return for the Twilight Sad.
